Free pixel art character creator

Herosmith is a pixel art character creator for games. Build any character you can think of from bodies, hair, clothes, armour, gear and weapons, give it hundreds of animations, and export sprite sheets at the size your game needs. The app is free with a starter set of parts; content packs (Survivors and Zombies) add hundreds more, all in the same creator.

Questions

Is Herosmith free?
Yes. The app is free to download and use, with no account, and comes with a starter set of parts. Content packs (Survivors and Zombies) add more parts, weapons and ready-made characters. You can pay what you want on itch if you'd like to support it.
What are content packs?
Sets of parts, weapons and ready-made characters that open inside Herosmith: Survivors and Zombies so far, with more to come.
Can I use the sprites in a commercial game?
Yes. Sprites you export are yours to use in commercial and non-commercial games, with no royalties and no credit needed. You can't sell them on their own as a sprite or asset pack.
Which engines does it export to?
PNG sheets and frames, GIF, APNG and WebP, plus ready files for Godot, Unity, Aseprite, Tiled, GameMaker, RPG Maker, Defold, Construct and GDevelop, with more to come.
What sizes and views can I export?
Any size, from tiny sprites to large ones, in isometric, true isometric, top-down, side-on and RPG Maker views, in every direction.
Does it need the internet?
No. Herosmith works offline and never connects to the internet. Updates come through the itch app.
Which computers does it run on?
Windows, macOS and Linux.
