Description

Montomo Town is a cozy town-building sandbox where the places you build come to life. Design every street, every park and every home down to the last detail, then watch people move in and wild mons settle nearby. There's no money to manage and nothing to lose, so build at whatever pace suits you.

Features

  • Make it yours

The whole map is yours to reshape. Pull the land up into terraces with stairs cut between them, or scoop out a pond where the grass looked a little lonely. A single sweep of the brush will plant an entire orchard. Buildings drop in with a satisfying thump, and you can repaint every one of them until it feels right, down to the color of the front door. Nothing is ever set in stone, so change your mind as often as you like.

  • Step inside

Lift the roof off any building and furnish it floor by floor, deciding what each one becomes. Put a bakery at street level with a cozy flat upstairs, or turn the attic into a library and watch the town's bookworm start spending their afternoons there.

  • They move in

You never place a single person. People arrive on their own looking for somewhere to live, pick one of the homes you've built and take a job at your café or the shop down the road. Within a week they've found a favorite bench and a neighbor they always drag along to lunch, and some of them adopt a dog that waits by the door until they get home. Mornings bring a little rush hour as everyone drives off to work. If you look away for a while, the town journal keeps track of everything you missed, from new arrivals to whoever got caught out in the rain.

  • Wild mons

Dig a pond and something may well start visiting it. Wild mons wander in from the edges of the world and settle wherever you've made them feel at home, whether that's a reedy bank or a quiet corner under the trees. Some grow so fond of one resident that they follow them all over town. Leave a berry on the grass and the nearest mon will come trotting over to eat it. The right berry can nudge a mon toward a different form as it grows, and a few of them hide surprises you won't see coming.

  • Rain or shine

Afternoons slide into golden evenings and then deep blue nights as the windows light up one by one. After a shower the streets shine with puddles full of lamplight, and when a proper storm rolls in everyone dashes for the nearest door, only to wander straight back out the moment it clears.

  • Walk around

Whenever you like, step out of the planner and stroll through your town on foot. Take a seat on the bench by the fountain and watch the café fill up, and when the town does something you want to remember, snap a photo.
